Can you dropship mattresses in South Africa?
Yes. Mr Mattress is a South African foam mattress manufacturer supplying approved resellers on a dropshipping basis. You list our mattresses on your own store or marketplace, your customer pays you, you place the order with us, and we manufacture and deliver directly to your customer anywhere in South Africa. You never hold stock.
Do I need to buy stock upfront?
No. You only place an order with Mr Mattress once your customer has paid you. There is no warehouse, no storage and no capital tied up in stock that has not sold yet.
Why are mattresses a good product to dropship?
Order values are high, from about R2,399 to R6,299 retail, so a single sale is worth many low-ticket imported products. Because the range is manufactured locally there is no 30 to 60 day shipping wait, no unpredictable customs duties, and returns stay inside South Africa.
What margin or commission do I make?
Your reseller price is quoted per applicant, based on the range and volume you expect to sell. You set your own retail price, so your margin is your own decision. This is not yet published, apply and we will send you the numbers.
Is there a minimum order?
Reseller terms, including any minimums, are agreed when you apply. Tell us what you expect to sell and we will be straight with you about what works.
Who handles delivery and warranty?
Mr Mattress manufactures and delivers directly to your customer, anywhere in South Africa. As the manufacturer, the warranty sits with Mr Mattress. How that is explained to your customer is agreed with you when you sign up.
Can I sell on marketplaces like Takealot or Facebook Marketplace?
Yes. Tell us where you intend to list when you apply so we can talk it through with you.
What is the difference between this and buying in bulk?
Dropshipping means you never hold stock, and Mr Mattress ships to your customer one order at a time. Buying in bulk means purchasing a quantity upfront, usually for your own property, hospitality business or institution. If that is what you need, see business and bulk mattresses.
