Bulk Mattress Supply from South Africa to Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Lesotho and Eswatini

Mr Mattress exports mattresses in bulk from South Africa to Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini (Swaziland), Zimbabwe and Mauritius. This is a bulk-only service for hotels, lodges, guest houses, student accommodation, retailers, institutions, NGOs and mining or construction camps. We have exported thousands of mattresses to neighbouring countries. There is no minimum order for a single mattress across a border, every export order is a bulk order.

Bulk mattresses ready for hotel and lodge rooms across the region

Who this is for

This service is built for businesses and institutions buying multiple mattresses at once, not for a single household bed. Typical buyers are hotels and lodges refurbishing rooms, guest houses opening or expanding, student accommodation operators, retailers who want to stock South African made mattresses, NGOs and government-linked institutions, and mining or construction camps housing workers. If you need one mattress delivered to a home address outside South Africa, this is not that service, we do not ship single units across a border.

How the export process works

We move export orders through freight partners by road to Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini and Zimbabwe, and by sea or air to Mauritius. Delivery is to your door, not to a port or a warehouse you have to arrange collection from yourself. Typical lead time is 14 to 30 days from confirmed order to delivery, depending on the destination, freight availability and how quickly customs clears on your side. Payment is a 50% deposit to confirm and manufacture your order, with the balance due before the shipment leaves South Africa.

The buyer is responsible for import duties and customs clearance in their own country. We prepare accurate commercial invoices and documentation to support your clearance, but the duty payment and the clearance process itself sit with you or your appointed clearing agent in-country.

Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini are members of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) with South Africa, so mattresses move between these countries without import duty. Zimbabwe and Mauritius sit outside SACU, so import duties apply there. We cannot publish a specific duty percentage for Zimbabwe or Mauritius since rates depend on tariff classification and change, your customs agent or our freight partner will confirm the current rate for your order before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

Is there import duty on South African mattresses into Botswana?

No. Botswana is a member of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) along with South Africa, so mattresses move between SACU member states without import duty.

How long does delivery to Zimbabwe take?

Typical lead time is 14 to 30 days from confirmed bulk order to door delivery, moving by road freight. The exact timing depends on order size and how quickly your side clears customs.

Can I order one mattress for export?

No. This is a bulk-only export service for hotels, lodges, guest houses, retailers and institutions. We do not ship one mattress across a border.

Who clears customs on an export order?

You, the buyer, or your appointed clearing agent, clear customs and pay any applicable import duty in your own country. We provide accurate commercial invoices and documentation to support that clearance.

What are the payment terms for an export order?

A 50% deposit confirms and starts manufacture of your order, with the full balance due before the shipment leaves South Africa.

Do you deliver to the door, or only to a port or warehouse?

Delivery is to your door in-country, using freight partners for road, sea or air movement depending on the destination.

Can I get South African made mattresses in Mauritius?

Yes, in bulk for hotels, resorts, guest houses and retailers. Mattresses move by sea or air freight, import duty applies since Mauritius sits outside SACU, and your clearing agent confirms the current rate. See the Mauritius export page for detail.

Is there duty on mattresses into Lesotho or Eswatini (Swaziland)?

No. Lesotho and Eswatini are both SACU members with South Africa, so mattresses move duty-free between these countries, the same as Botswana.

Mr Mattress manufactures and dispatches across Gauteng, Cape Town, East London, Bloemfontein, Durban and Mpumalanga. See our full range of business and bulk divisions.
