What is a sleeper base
A sleeper base is a solid bed base with a second full mattress that rolls out from underneath, also called a trundle. By day it is one normal bed. When someone stays over, you roll the second mattress out and you have two proper beds in the floor space of one.
It is not a sleeper couch. There is no folding and no thin cushions, just two real mattresses. It comes in Single and Three-Quarter, from R2,999, and it is built for kids' rooms, sleepovers, guest rooms and small spaces where a second bed would never fit.
What is a drawer base
A drawer base is a solid bed base with storage drawers built into the sides. You get the same firm, no-sag support as any good base, plus space underneath for linen, clothes or whatever the cupboard cannot hold. It comes in Double and Queen, from R2,499, and it suits a main bedroom that needs storage without an extra chest of drawers taking up the room.

Which one should you buy?
If you need a spare bed for guests or kids without giving up floor space, get the sleeper base. The roll-out mattress means the second person sleeps on a real bed, not a couch.
