Which Mattress Is Right For You? Answer Three Questions

Quick answer: answer three short questions about how your bed feels, who sleeps on it, and roughly how heavy your heaviest sleeper is, and we will point you to one mattress, not five, with the real price, density and weight rating for it.

Question 1 of 3

How does your bed feel now?

Compare all five mattresses

Every number below is a published spec, not a felt guess. Density is how tightly the foam is packed, in kilograms per cubic metre. Depth is the full mattress height.

Sleep better. 365 night trial. 10 year warranty. 30 day money back guarantee.

Not sure even after the picker? A 365 night trial exists precisely because nobody can be certain from a web page. Phone 087 087 1610 or WhatsApp 087 292 1957 if you would rather talk it through, a lot of customers do.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if my mattress is too soft or too firm?

Too firm usually shows up as soreness at the hip or shoulder, the pressure points that need to sink in slightly. Too soft usually shows up as lower back ache, because the middle of your body sinks further than your shoulders and hips. If neither is true and the bed is just old, the foam has likely lost its support, not its firmness.

What is the difference between Active Foam and Ultra 200?

Active Foam is our firmest mattress at 50 kg/m3 core density, 22cm deep, rated 100kg per sleeper, from R3,399. The Ultra 200 is our flagship, a thicker 30cm double sided build rated for sleepers up to 200kg, from R6,399. Choose Active Foam for a firm feel at a lower price, and Ultra 200 when a heavier sleeper needs the higher weight rating.

Can a mattress topper fix a mattress that is too firm?

Yes, if the mattress underneath is otherwise sound. The Mattress Topper is R1,499 and adds a softer memory foam layer on top. It will not fix a mattress that sags or has springs you can feel, that needs replacing, not topping up.

What is the heaviest sleeper each Mr Mattress model is rated for?

Comfort Foam and Revive Memory Foam are both rated 140kg per sleeper. Active Foam and the Hybrid are rated 100kg per sleeper. The Ultra 200 is rated 200kg per sleeper, with a 400kg total rating on Queen and King for two sleepers, and no exclusions on the trial or warranty at that weight.

How long do I have to decide if my new mattress is right?

Every mattress in our range comes with a 365 night home trial, a full year to sleep on it, plus a 30 day money back guarantee. Warranty length is 10 years on Active Foam, Revive, the Hybrid and Ultra 200, and 3 years on Comfort Foam.
