Best Full Foam Mattress in Gauteng (2026)

Quick answer: the best full foam mattress in Gauteng is the Mr Mattress Active Foam, a 50 kg/m³ high-density core through the entire mattress, with a 10-year warranty, from R3,399.

"Full foam" means high-density foam through the whole mattress, not just a comfort layer sitting on top of a spring unit. Worth knowing upfront: the number that actually decides how long a full foam mattress lasts is the published density, not the word "foam" printed on the label. A lot of budget mattresses sold in Gauteng call themselves full foam without ever stating a density figure.

The best full foam mattress in Gauteng is the Mr Mattress Active Foam - a firm, 50 kg/m³ high-density core through the entire mattress, with a 10-year warranty and a 365-night home trial, from R3,399, manufactured through our own Gauteng facility. If you want a contouring memory-foam top over that same high-density approach, the Revive Memory Foam is the step up.

What "full foam" actually means

A full foam mattress is high-density foam through its entire depth, with no memory layer moulding slowly on top - you lie on top of it rather than sinking in, and it gives even, durable support across the whole surface. It's the simplest and most affordable way to get long-lasting support, provided the density is genuinely high. The Active Foam's 50 kg/m³ core is published on the product page, not left for you to guess from a showroom feel.

Full foam and heat on the Highveld

Full foam is a dense, closed-cell structure, and dense, closed-cell foam holds onto body heat a little more than an open coil-sprung core does. On the Highveld that's most noticeable on hot summer afternoons, typically December to February, before Gauteng's characteristic afternoon thunderstorms bring the temperature down. For the rest of the year it works the other way: Gauteng's dry, cool winter nights turn that same heat retention into a genuine comfort advantage rather than a drawback. If summer heat retention matters more to your household than winter warmth, our Hybrid's Bonnell coil core sleeps noticeably cooler.
