Still want a spring bed in Cape Town?
Springs have always been popular for good reason: solid support, a responsive push-back feel, and a mattress that sleeps cool. The part that actually wears out on a traditional spring bed is never the steel. It is the thin layer of padding on top, which flattens within a few years and lets you feel the coils at your hips and shoulders. That is the whole story behind why old spring beds sag, and it is covered in full in our complete spring mattress guide for South Africa.
The spring bed, upgraded
The Mr Mattress Hybrid keeps a spring support core for the support, responsiveness and airflow you already know from a spring bed, and replaces the old thin padding with a thick foam comfort layer that will not flatten in a few years. Same spring feel underneath. A comfort layer that finally matches it on top.
Delivery to Cape Town
There is no Mr Mattress store in Cape Town yet, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise. Free State customers get our fastest tier, usually 1 to 3 working days; Cape Town falls in the national tier, usually 3 to 7 working days depending on your area. Cape Town is one of the provinces where Mr Mattress manufactures, through our own and approved partner facilities, and its coastal air is exactly the condition an open spring support core has always handled well. We contact you to arrange a delivery day.
If you would rather compare the Hybrid against our full foam range while you are deciding, see our Cape Town foam mattress delivery page.

Frequently asked questions
Does Mr Mattress deliver spring beds to Cape Town?
Yes. The Hybrid is delivered free to Cape Town, usually within 3 to 7 working days as part of our national delivery tier.
What is the difference between a spring bed and the Mr Mattress Hybrid?
Both use a steel spring core for support. An old-style spring bed covers that core with a few centimetres of thin padding, which is why you eventually feel the coils. The Hybrid replaces that thin padding with a thick foam comfort layer, so the spring support stays but the top no longer flattens after a few years.
How much does a spring bed cost in Cape Town?
Branded spring mattresses typically sell for R7,000 to R12,000 for a queen through retail stores. Because we manufacture in South Africa and sell through our own stores and online, the Mr Mattress Hybrid starts at R6,299, with a queen at R7,199, delivered free to Cape Town.
Will the Hybrid feel like a normal spring bed?
The support underneath will feel familiar: responsive, solid, and just as cool to sleep on, because the same open spring core still lets air move through the mattress. The top will feel softer at first, since you are landing on thick comfort foam instead of thin padding. Most spring sleepers adjust within days, and the 365 night home trial means you can take months to decide.
Is there a Mr Mattress store in Cape Town?
Not yet. We deliver to Cape Town by courier, free, usually within 3 to 7 working days. You can see our current store list, none of which claim a specific count beyond what is actually open, on our store locator page.

What to check before you buy any mattress
- Published foam density. Active Foam is 50 kg/m3 and the Revive has a 65 kg/m3 core, printed on the product so you can compare like with like.
- Weight rating. The Revive is rated to 140 kg per sleeper, so check the rating for the heaviest person in the bed.
- Trial and warranty terms. Ours is a 365 night home trial, a 30 day money-back guarantee and a fixed written warranty that is never pro-rated.
- The base. A worn or sagging base can undo a new mattress, so a base set is worth considering.
- The pillow. A pillow that suits your sleeping position matters as much as the mattress for neck comfort.
Signs your current mattress is the problem
A visible dip where you sleep, waking stiff most mornings, noisy springs, or a mattress that is more than 8 to 10 years old are the usual signs. A mattress is a comfort product, not a medical treatment, so speak to a doctor about persistent pain.

Do you deliver spring mattresses to Cape Town?
Yes, in 3 to 7 working days, free except extreme rural areas.

Can I see a mattress in person near Cape Town?
