Best Full Foam Mattress in KZN (2026)

Quick answer: the best full foam mattress in KZN is the Mr Mattress Active Foam, a 50 kg/m³ high-density core through the entire mattress, with a 10-year warranty, from R3,399.

"Full foam" means high-density foam through the whole mattress, not just a comfort layer sitting on top of a spring unit. Worth knowing upfront: the number that actually decides how long a full foam mattress lasts is the published density, not the word "foam" printed on the label. KZN's warmer, more humid climate also makes airflow worth considering alongside density.

The best full foam mattress in KZN is the Mr Mattress Active Foam - a firm, 50 kg/m³ high-density core through the entire mattress, with a 10-year warranty and a 365-night home trial, from R3,399, manufactured through our own KwaZulu-Natal facility. If you want a contouring memory-foam top over that same high-density approach, the Revive Memory Foam is the step up.

What "full foam" actually means

A full foam mattress is high-density foam through its entire depth, with no memory layer moulding slowly on top - you lie on top of it rather than sinking in, and it gives even, durable support across the whole surface. It's the simplest and most affordable way to get long-lasting support, provided the density is genuinely high. The Active Foam's 50 kg/m³ core is published on the product page, not left for you to guess from a showroom feel.

Made in KwaZulu-Natal, not just shipped there

Mr Mattress manufactures through our own facility in KwaZulu-Natal, alongside Gauteng, the Free State, Cape Town, East London and Mpumalanga. Every mattress delivered across Durban and the rest of KZN comes with free delivery.

Full foam and KZN's humid climate

Of the three regions we cover, KZN is where a full foam mattress's heat retention is most worth thinking about upfront. Durban and the KZN coast run warm and humid for most of the year, not just a few summer months, and a dense, closed-cell foam core naturally holds onto more body heat and moisture than an open coil-sprung mattress does. The Active Foam is still the firmest, most durable full-foam option we make, but if airflow matters more to you than firmness in Durban's climate, our Hybrid's Bonnell coil core is worth comparing before you decide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best full foam mattress in KZN?

The Active Foam - a firm, 50 kg/m³ high-density core through the entire mattress, from R3,399.

Is Mr Mattress made in KZN?

Yes - we manufacture through our own facility in KwaZulu-Natal, alongside Gauteng, the Free State, Cape Town, East London and Mpumalanga.

What's the difference between full foam and memory foam?

Full foam is firm, fast-response high-density foam through the entire mattress. Memory foam is a slow-moulding layer that contours to your shape, usually placed over a high-density core. The Mr Mattress Revive Memory Foam combines both: a 65 kg/m³ support core under a memory-foam top.

What is your trial and return policy?

365 nights at home, no minimum hold period, on every mattress.

Is full foam durable in a humid climate?

Yes, provided the density is high enough - density, not the word "foam," determines how long a mattress holds its shape, and the Active Foam's 50 kg/m³ core is built for durability, backed by a 10-year warranty. If airflow matters more to you than firmness, the Hybrid's coil core sleeps cooler.
