Quick answer: Mr Mattress does not make a true pocket spring mattress; the closest match in Cape Town is our Hybrid Mattress, a Bonnell coil support core (independently tested to 140 kg, 96% height retention) with foam comfort layers, from R6,299.
Search "best pocket spring mattress Cape Town" and you'll be pointed to Bed King, The Sleep Gallery and Direct From Supplier - all genuine pocket-spring specialists. We're going to be straightforward: that's not what we sell.
Honestly: Mr Mattress does not sell a pocket-spring mattress. The Mr Mattress Hybrid uses a Bonnell coil support core - an interconnected coil system, not individually wrapped springs. If true motion isolation for couples is your top priority, a genuine pocket-spring mattress from Bed King, Direct From Supplier, or a premium brand from The Sleep Gallery's range (Simmons, Cloud Nine, Rest Assured, Restonic) is the more direct answer to what you searched for.
If you're open to an alternative, the Mr Mattress Hybrid is worth a look - a Bonnell coil support core (2.4mm wire, 82B high-carbon steel, independently tested to EN 1957: 30,000 cycles at 140kg, 96% height retention) under a thick foam comfort layer, from R6,299. It gives springy, responsive support and good airflow at roughly half the price of a branded pocket-spring queen, and it's manufactured through our own Cape Town facility.
Why we're telling you this instead of blurring the line
Pocket springs are individually wrapped in fabric pockets, so each coil moves independently - the motion-isolation advantage couples search for. Our Bonnell coil interconnects the coils into one unit: strong, even and breathable, but a partner's movement travels further across the bed than on individually wrapped coils. Calling the Mr Mattress Hybrid a pocket-spring mattress would be a false claim about its own construction.
Made in Cape Town, not just shipped there
If the Hybrid is the right fit for you, Mr Mattress manufactures through our own facility in Cape Town, alongside Gauteng, the Free State, East London, KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga. Every Hybrid delivered across Cape Town and the rest of the Western Cape comes with free delivery, a 365-night home trial and a 10-year warranty.

What to check before you buy any mattress
- Published foam density. Active Foam is 50 kg/m3 and the Revive has a 65 kg/m3 core, printed on the product so you can compare like with like.
- Weight rating. The Revive is rated to 140 kg per sleeper, so check the rating for the heaviest person in the bed.
- Trial and warranty terms. Ours is a 365 night home trial, a 30 day money-back guarantee and a fixed written warranty that is never pro-rated.
- The base. A worn or sagging base can undo a new mattress, so a base set is worth considering.
- The pillow. A pillow that suits your sleeping position matters as much as the mattress for neck comfort.
Signs your current mattress is the problem
A visible dip where you sleep, waking stiff most mornings, noisy springs, or a mattress that is more than 8 to 10 years old are the usual signs. A mattress is a comfort product, not a medical treatment, so speak to a doctor about persistent pain.
Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 523 Mr Mattress customers on Google. Over 25,000 Mr Mattress beds delivered across South Africa.
