Quick answer: the best spring mattress in KZN is the Mr Mattress Hybrid Foam, a Bonnell steel coil support core under foam comfort layers, from R6,299, with a 365-night home trial and free delivery to Durban and the rest of KwaZulu-Natal.
Search "best spring mattress KZN" and you'll be pointed to Beds2Go, Bed King and Furn Bedding, with pocket spring or memory-pocket hybrids recommended over a basic innerspring bed. Real options, but springs were never really the problem with a spring bed; it's the thin comfort layer on top of them, and no listing tells you which product actually fixed that.
The best spring mattress in KwaZulu-Natal is the Mr Mattress Hybrid - a Bonnell coil support core (2.4mm wire, 82B high-carbon steel, independently tested to EN 1957: 30,000 cycles at 140kg, 96% height retention) under a thick foam comfort layer that finally matches the quality of the coils underneath - delivered free to Durban and the rest of KZN, from R6,299.
Honestly: we don't sell individually-wrapped pocket springs.
Our Bonnell coil is an interconnected support unit, not individually wrapped coils - it gives springy, responsive support and great airflow (genuinely useful in KZN's warmer, humid conditions), but a real pocket-spring bed will still isolate a partner's movement better. If motion isolation is your absolute top priority, a premium pocket-spring brand is a genuinely good product. For most buyers, the Hybrid delivers what they're actually searching for: spring support that lasts, at a fraction of the price.
Why the price gap is so wide
Branded pocket spring mattresses in KZN typically run R7,000 to R12,000 for a queen. The Mr Mattress Hybrid queen is R7,199, because we manufacture in South Africa and sell through our own stores and online. You're not getting individually wrapped coils at that price, but you are getting a real, published, independently tested spec - not just a "spring feel" claim.
Made in South Africa, delivered free to KZN

Frequently asked questions
What is the best spring mattress in KZN?
The Mr Mattress Hybrid - a Bonnell coil core independently tested to EN 1957, under a thick foam comfort layer, delivered free to Durban and the rest of KZN.
Do you sell pocket spring mattresses?
No - the Mr Mattress Hybrid uses a Bonnell coil core, which is interconnected rather than individually wrapped. If true motion isolation for couples is your top priority, a premium pocket-spring brand is the better fit.
Do you deliver to Durban and the rest of KZN?
Yes - free nationwide delivery includes Durban and the rest of KwaZulu-Natal.
What warranty and trial does the Hybrid come with?
A 10-year warranty and a 365-night home trial with no minimum hold period.
Do spring mattresses sleep cool?
Yes - air moves freely through the coil unit, and the Hybrid keeps that same airflow advantage under its foam comfort layer, genuinely useful in KZN's humid conditions.

What to check before you buy any mattress
- Published foam density. Active Foam is 50 kg/m3 and the Revive has a 65 kg/m3 core, printed on the product so you can compare like with like.
- Weight rating. The Revive is rated to 140 kg per sleeper, so check the rating for the heaviest person in the bed.
- Trial and warranty terms. Ours is a 365 night home trial, a 30 day money-back guarantee and a fixed written warranty that is never pro-rated.
- The base. A worn or sagging base can undo a new mattress, so a base set is worth considering.
- The pillow. A pillow that suits your sleeping position matters as much as the mattress for neck comfort.
Signs your current mattress is the problem
A visible dip where you sleep, waking stiff most mornings, noisy springs, or a mattress that is more than 8 to 10 years old are the usual signs. A mattress is a comfort product, not a medical treatment, so speak to a doctor about persistent pain.
Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 523 Mr Mattress customers on Google. Over 25,000 Mr Mattress beds delivered across South Africa.
