The fix is airflow, not a special mattress. Break the sealed contact between mattress and base with a slatted base or a ventilating underlay, stand the mattress on edge whenever the caravan is stored, and crack a roof vent while you sleep. Any supplier claiming their foam is mould-proof against a sealed cold panel is overselling. Foam does help in one honest way though: it is light enough to lift and air regularly, and there is no steel in it to corrode in salt air.

How thick should a caravan mattress be?

Why is there mould under my caravan mattress?
Condensation. Moisture from your body passes down through the mattress and meets the cold sealed bed base, where it condenses into liquid water. Trapped in the dark with no airflow, that damp grows mould. It is very common in humid coastal areas and during storage, and it is a ventilation problem rather than a mattress fault.
How do I stop condensation under a caravan mattress?
Break the sealed contact between mattress and base so air can move. A slatted base or a ventilating underlay membrane is the most effective fix. Beyond that, stand the mattress on edge whenever the caravan is stored, air it regularly on trips, and keep a roof vent cracked while you sleep.
